Marqués de Riscal winery is the oldest one in the Rioja, Spain. It was founded in 1860 and has always been renowned for its pioneering
nature. It introduced French techniques of wine production in Spain. In 1998 Marques de Riscal becomes pioneer on the combination of
a production space with a space for leisure and created the City of Wine, to raise awareness of wine, its history, culture and
philosophy. Within this complex is located the principal axis, the hotel projected by Frank O. Gehry. The structural solution
of this building is a hybrid that combines steel, reinforced concrete and post-tensioned concrete systems. Noted for its
undulating forms and colors.
